An eight-month-old boy is back with his mother following a brief ordeal Wednesday in Shelbyville.
Michael Brothers, 20, Madison Street, is being held at Bedford County Jail on $16,000 bond, charged with vandalism, reckless endangerment and violating an order of protection.
Brothers was allegedly following the mother of the boy, Payton, who was identified as his son, Shelbyville police said.
The woman, who was unidentified at press time, pulled into the parking lot of Tennessee Technology Center and an argument ensued.
According to police, Brothers allegedly broke window glass of the woman's vehicle and took the child.
Brothers had the child for approximately 15-20 minutes before being taken into custody by Detectives Brian Crews and Charles Merlo at an Oak Street residence, where the child was safely recovered.

with knowledge of the two of them i know that she went out with another man around thanksgiving time and put him and all his friends in a living hell while he thought that they would get back together exactly what they did.she is nothing more then a user in which she did ask all of his friends what she did to him to start him in this rage of jealousy.she brought her boy friend over to his apartment 2-3 days after she left him...
AND? That does not give him one single tiny ounce of rights to do this to her, or their child. Sounds like you are speaking from personal expierence. Get counceling, please!
Maybe a little history will help..
The unidentified women is Angel, and while Michael and Angel were together before the marriage they were living with her grandfather because her mother threw her and her siblings out and they had no where else to go. After a couple of months Angel split up with Michael and then out of the blue wanted to get back together because she was with child, so they got married. After the child was born Angel went through a deep depression, I believe she still is in a deep depression.
There have been comments made that the baby is not Michaels birth child, only a child through the marriage. Michael has chosen to put aside the comments and raise this baby as his own. Then one day Michael came home from work and found a love letter Angel had written to her lover and he chose to end the marriage. Angel went to live with her mother who after a short time tossed Angel and the baby out, then Angel ended up back at Michaels place and Michael felt the marriage was over and asked Angel to leave. When she said she had no place to go Michael allowed her to stay until she found a place.
No one informed Michael there was a protection order against him. I thought the law was required to inform a person of any protection orders that have been filed against them. Different states have different laws?
The place the incident happened at should have security cameras, has anyone checked into this?
Which victim has evidence of being a victim? Bruises, knots and so on.
Has anyone checked?
I believe a blood test should be done for paternity to find out who this child really belongs to, what do you think? I also think Angel should be checked for postpartum depression.
I also think it would be wise to check on the living conditions for the child.
question
shouldn't the mother be charged with child endangerment?
Michael was driving, Angel was in the passenger seat and the baby in the back seat.
while Michael was driving Angel was beating on Michael, mostly in the face.
no thats not the point the judge just don't like to waist time in court thinks he is going to make better decissions and his decissions stinks to hi heaven
I think the judge needs counciling
I agree with offineer7 the living conditions as said by a lot of his friends that she is a very lazy woman you would expect a man to live like that not a woman we had the baby here on different occasions and that poor kid acted scared for the first hour and a half
