The 2008 Garden Tour, sponsored by Bedford County Beautification Committee, will be held June 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Ten gardens in Bedford County have been selected by the committee. They will be in full bloom for the many visitors expected to view them on the first Saturday in June.
The cost for the self-guided tour is $10. Gardens may be toured in any order. Directions will be provided upon the purchase of a ticket.
Also, a boxed lunch containing chicken salad sandwiches, pasta salad and fruit will be available for pick up at the home of John and Mary Ann Davis, whose garden is being featured this year, for an additional $10.
The deadline for purchasing a lunch ticket is June 2.
Other gardens featured on this year's tour include the Francesconi garden, "A Country Cottage Garden," located in Flat Creek; the Debatin garden, "An English Garden in Bedford County, in Flat Creek; the Smith garden, "Patio Privacy," on Narrows Road; the Pitts garden, "Peaceful Secrets," also on Narrows Road; the Upton garden, "A Garden of Memories," on Midland Road; the Tiller garden, "An English Cottage Garden," also on Midland Road; the Gavin garden, "A Walk in the Park," in Beech Grove; the McDonald garden, "A Garden in Every Season," on Narrows Road; and the Barnes garden, "Privacy at the Country Club," located on Riverbend Country Club Road.
Rain date is June 14.

Proceeds from the tour will go toward the cost of putting a new fence around the old city cemetery.
