Webb coach Adrian Anderson admitted the field conditions led to his team's early deficit.
"They cut the grass real short, so the field was really fast," he said. "All the balls skid along. Plus, it being wet didn't help as well. It made it hard to control the ball."
Ironically enough, it was Feet goalkeeper Zach Crownover who got them on the board first. The junior punted a ball that forced USN's goalie to sky to get his mits on it but couldn't manage to keep his feet from lingering into the goal.
"Zach getting the first goal like that was kind of a freak accident," he said, "but we deserved the goal. We had 2-3 opportunities right before that where we should have scored but didn't."
Freshman Josh Ferrell booted home the second score for Webb (3-0-2) on a free kick.
"Had we been more on target with our shots, we would have come away with a really nice win," Anderson said.
Crownover totaled seven saves in helping keep USN off the scoreboard in the second half.
The Feet return to Bell Buckle for their next two region matches. They host Davidson Academy on Thursday at 5 and King's Academy on Saturday at noon.
"If we can get through this week, we'll really be set for the region (standings)," Anderson said.
