That was the word this morning from Wartrace Town Hall about the condition of their water system, the customers of which have been under an advisory to boil water since last week.
A drinking water warning was issued for the system last Tuesday due to high turbidity levels and the potential of contaminated water. Mayor Don Gallagher said Monday that the turbidity level was at 3.9, with the acceptable limit set at 1.0.
Gallagher also said testing will resume today and if all goes well, the boil water advisory could be lifted by Wednesday.
Bell Buckle, which has two different options for its water supply, lifted the boil order late Friday. The town began taking its water from Bedford County Utility District when the Wartrace-owned water system began having its problems.
Gallagher said late Friday that the turbidity had dropped to near acceptable levels that morning, but heavy rain drove it back up.
