The Champs walked away from the soccer patch in Wartrace totally content with a 1-1 tie with District 11-A/AA rival Middle Tennessee Christian in a spirited contest.
"I'm very pleased," Lewis said. "I would like to have one more goal, and we were really close. We seemed to have control of the ball most of the game.
"I was happy with the movement of the ball and our passes. Our speed helped us a lot."
Clayton Mitchell struck early to net the lone score for the Cougars (2-2-2).
Cascade (0-2-1) got the game-tying goal from Mitch Rabbitt with 18:18 left in the first half.
"If our heads would have been in the game the opening 15 minutes, it might have been a different story," Lewis said. "Once we had our rhythm going, we were fine."
Bryan Hayes guarded the nets for the Champs. Parker Burgess was in goal for MTC.
Cascade seeks their first victory of the season when they bus to Franklin on Thursday to take on district foe Page.
"If we do what we did tonight and step it up just a little bit, we'll be OK," Lewis said.
