The Pleasant M. Curry residence, Orchard Lane, was entered by prying a door, Deputy Benjamin Burris said.
*The person who stole a cell phone from AT&T, North Main Street, likely won't be using it soon.
The phone, which was on a counter with others being shown to prospective customers, was stolen while an employee was retrieving a phone charger and entering data into a computer, Shelbyville police said.
But the phone can't be activated due to being tagged as stolen, police were told.
*A "large pile" of copper wire and stack of finished aluminum sheets were stolen from the property of Garhawk Corp., Bethany Lane, overnight Monday.
*Chester Thompson, Cypress Street, told police Tuesday the license plate was stolen from his car sometime last week.
