The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration announced its judging panel for the 38th annual Spring Fun Show on Tuesday.

Gene "Smokey" Carswell of Morehead, Ky., Jennifer Bingham Davis of Shelbyville and Mike McCormick of Shelbyville have been selected.

Carswell judged the Fun Show in 1994 and 1998 while McCormick was in center ring for the spring event in 1996. This will be Davis' first time to judge the event. Carswell has also been a member of the Celebration judging panel on three occasions (1995, 2000, 2003).

"I'm very happy with the group we have been able to put together for this year's show," said Celebration CEO and show manager Dr. Doyle Meadows. "We've had a good deal of input from industry professionals and the individuals selected were names we kept hearing.

"It was important for us to get a good mix of experience levels," Meadows said. "The bottom line is that I expect this group to do a great job working together to make sure the best horse in each class is rewarded for their efforts."

The show, scheduled May 22-24 at Calsonic Arena, will feature 48 classes. A full schedule is available on The Celebration web site, www.twhnc.com .
