Cascade's five-game winning streak came to a close on Saturday when defending Class A state champion Friendship Christian run-ruled the Champions 12-2 in Wartrace.

Pitchers' inability to throw strikes and defensive mistakes were compounded by timely hits from the eighth-ranked Commanders, who jumped out in front with a five-run second inning. G.L. Waynick opened their scoring with a leadoff home run.

Friendship finished ringing the bell with a seven-run third.

Nick Batts homered and singled for fourth-ranked Cascade (18-4). MoMo Stewart added two singles.

Kyle Clanton took the loss on the hill. Josh Brown struck out six Commanders in two scoreless innings.
