Community rode a six-run sixth inning to an 11-4 win over Webb, who played them to a standstill up until that point Monday.

The Viqueens (7-13) struck first by scoring four runs in their first two at-bats.

Freshman pitcher Brittany Haynes worked her way through the Webb lineup with little damage done until the fifth frame.

Alison Pruter started the Webb (0-8) rally in the fifth with a double and Ashleigh Knotts and Elizabeth Lawrence followed with base hits sandwiched around a Viqueen error to tie the game at 4-all before leaving the go-ahead run stranded at third.

Two errors and consecutive hits by Ashley Farris, Brook Bennett, Jordin Stewart and a bases-loaded two-bagger by Haynes were good for six runs to put the game away for the Viqueens.

Haynes threw a complete game, allowing five hits while striking out eight. She walked just three hitters to win her sixth game of the season.

"We played well today," Community coach Libby Frost said. "We made minimal mistakes in the field and hit the ball in some key spots to answer their rally.

"We still make some young mistakes but we are playing well as a team right now."

Savannah Scarlett pitched six innings for the Lady Feet, allowing eight hits and striking out seven.

"We made some progress out there today," Webb coach James Garcia said. "We played hard and made a nice little comeback to tie the game.

"We put the bat on the ball and held our mental mistakes down. Physical errors are going to happen, but we kept our focus for a complete game. I am pleased with that."

Webb takes on St. Andrew's-Sewanee in Bell Buckle today at 4.

Community welcomes Huntland for a non-district game at 5.
