Webb struck early for a pair of goals in the first 20 minutes and cruised to a 2-0 win over Cascade at Lagler Field in Bell Buckle.

Sean Kim got the Feet (5-2-2) on the board just 5:38 into the match. Josh Ferrell assisted. That lead doubled when Chris Hoover took an assist from his brother Daniel Hoover and put the ball into the back of the net in the 17th minute.

"It's a whole lot easier to play (with a two-goal lead) just because you're more comfortable and you know that even if you make a mistake in the back and give one up, you've still got a little cushion to work with," Webb coach Adrian Anderson said. "Emotionally, as much as anything else, you're not grinding that knife edge worrying about missing a header or it glancing wrong or missing a coverage on a corner kick."

Webb goalie Zach Crownover was credited with seven saves to help preserve the shutout.

"Zach Crownover didn't have a tremendous amount to do, but he did everything he needed to do to make it secure in there, especially with all those high balls," Anderson said. "They did have a height advantage on us. So, you need your goalkeeper to go get the ball out of the air like that."

The coach of the Feet also credited Adam Brooks, Sebastian Skordallos and JunWoo Chang with the stellar defensive effort. However, Anderson and Co. patiently await the return of key defender Danny Wang, whose been out since the first of the season with an ankle injury.

Cascade (2-5-1) showed some life early in the second half, ripping off four shots in the opening 10 minutes following intermission. But, no boot made it to the twine and the slow start did the visitors in.

"We weren't first to the ball, they were," Champion coach Monica Lewis said. "We weren't working together. We weren't talking. When the pass was made, no one was there to get it."

Anderson noted the improvement in Cascade's ball skill over recent seasons.

"They used their size to get between us and the ball," he said. "They weren't using their size to try to knock us off the ball and knock us around the field.

"Skill will beat physicalness 90 percent of the time. There's only so far killing the other guy is going to work."

Champion goalkeeper Bryan Hayes totaled 12 saves.

Webb faces Page on Thursday in Franklin at 5 p.m.

Cascade hosts District 11-A/AA rival Forrest for Senior Night on Tuesday at 5. Daniel Faulk, Albert Hatchett, Chris Martin, Timo Murray, Travis Jenkins and Larry Bardoff will all be honored.

Coffee County 4, Cascade 1: On Friday, Eli Basurto rocketed in the lone goal for the Champions in Manchester.

Cascade 3, Marshall County 1: In Lewisburg last Thursday, the Champs avenged a season-opening loss to the Tigers. Michael Martin opened up the scoring with a laser from outside the box. He turned around and gave them their second tally with a penalty kick. Murray bounced a corner kick off of the Marshall County keeper for their final goal.

Cascade 3, St. Andrew's-Sewanee 2: On April 15, Jenkins moved up from his normal position of sweeper to play center midfield and responded by dishing out an assist on a goal by Ryan Deason. Jenkins wasn't done there, assisting a goal by Basurto.
