The Eaglettes (16-11) outhit the Lady Raiders 6-4 but six errors in the field and clutch hitting at opportune times didn't help matters.
"Now that I look back at the game, we had our chances," Shelbyville coach Robin Ayers said. "Anytime you can hold Coffee County to only four hits, you've done something right. Samantha Dye did a good job pitching and Daryl Bell called a good game from behind the plate.
"We did make entirely too many errors and you just can't do that against Coffee County. They are really playing well right now and they will run all over you."
The Lady Raiders struck first with a run in the bottom of the first followed by three more in the fourth.
Shelbyville's lone run came in the fourth frame when Shelby Lamb doubled to deep right field, advanced to third on an error off the bat of Bell and scored on a Dye sacrifice fly.
Shelbyville left runners stranded on second and third in the late innings.

Third baseman Amber Russell collected a pair of singles for Shelbyville.
"We had a number of baserunners, we just couldn't get that big hit," Ayers said. "The only think we can do now is just forget this one and bounce back."
The Eaglettes play in an elimination game tonight at 7 against Lawrence County. The two teams split in the regular season.
