Last year, Central moved its graduation exercises to Calsonic Arena on the Celebration grounds, and this year, Cascade followed suit.
"Cascade saw what Central did, and liked it," said Jimmy Burton, the arena's marketing manager.
"This will be the first time we've done two in the same day," said Burton. The arena has also played host to Motlow State's graduation in the past.
Central's graduation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, while Cascade's ceremony will be at 4 p.m. Both schools will have practices on Friday.
Burton said the Celebration will have little to do to turn around the facility between the two ceremonies -- a quick pickup of discarded programs or other litter. The schools themselves are taking care of the stage arrangements -- each school will have the right number of chairs for its graduating class -- and converting from one stage setup to the other.
"The two principals have sat down and worked out the details," said Burton.
The benefit to using Calsonic, as opposed to a school theater or gymnasium, is the capacity. The arena has about 4,500 permanent seats, and Burton said Central filled about 3,500 of them last year.
"It gives them plenty of room," said Burton. He said The Celebration is pleased to be able to host this milestone event for graduates and their families.
"It's a good community service to work with them, and provide this," he said.
Calsonic Arena is not air conditioned but has exhaust fans which can help drop the temperature. Currently, however, Saturday's high is projected to be a mild 73 degrees.
Community High School is still using its own gymnasium for its graduation, which will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.
