"He showed up at Never Rest Park at 8:30 a.m. with several pieces of clothing, a webcam and condoms," Merlo said.
Brown took his arrest calmly and showed little emotion, according to Merlo and Detective Brian Crews, who was present at the park.
Charges of solicitation of a minor, statutory rape and driving on a revoked/suspended license were filed against Brown. He is being held at Bedford County Jail on $60,250 bond.
Brown is the second person in a month arrested in Shelbyville for alleged Internet sex crimes. A Blount County man was charged April 11 after allegedly sending explicit photos to Merlo, who was posing as the 13-year-old.
I'm confused. Where did the statutory rape charge against Brown come from?
I like the way Det. Crews set up as a 13-year-old girl to catch that sick maniac and it was a great sting. It was funny how he did it but its very tactical. So, great job and keep up the good work for the children.

Its nice to see how effective our PD is dealing with a one on one situation.

This may be why their are so many missing children. I hate to know that this man knew Shelbyville, and our parks. Scarry... We do need video cameras in all our parks, it is a definite place for kids to go.
