When customers paid cash for video rentals the suspect kept the money, making change from a cash drawer if necessary, and deleted the transaction from the store computer's screen, according to a store manager.
A loss prevention employee confronted the woman, who admitted the scam and said she would repay but hasn't been heard from since, police were told.
The incidents were listed as occurring between Jan. 5 and March 31.
No charges have yet been filed, records indicate.
Thefts
A cell phone belonging to an employee of Shelbyville Super Market, Union Street, was taken from a bench at the store Monday.
The man told police he called his phone and, when it was answered, heard individuals in the background talking about selling it.
Other thefts reported to authorities:
* A pressure washer was taken from a storage shed at a Jamie Court home between Saturday and Monday, police said.
* Two spools of copper wire and a copper gas line were taken from a shed at a Lower Halls Mill Road home between May 11 and Sunday, according to a Bedford County Sheriff's Department report.
Jail intake
The following persons were arrested since Thursday by the Shelbyville Police Department, Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol or 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force and processed through Bedford County Jail. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts.
* Robert Wayne Fathera, 39, Davis Lane, Bell Buckle; possession of schedule II drug, possession of schedule IV drug, possession of drug paraphernalia; held, $12,000 bond
* Tammy Rence Fife, 42, Davis Street; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $500 bond
* Miron Hill, 52, Bethany Lane; possession of schedule II drug (three counts); held, $13,750 bond
* Brian Keith McAnally, 36, Cessna Lane; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $1,000 bond
* Abel Alvarez Olivera, 19, Martha Street; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $5,000 bond
* Kimberly Ann O'Neal, 40, East Depot Street; habitual motor vehicle offender; held, $50,000 bond
* Richard Louis Streeter, 47, Elizabeth Street; violation of probation; released, $2,500 bond
* Cheryl Lynn Warick, 49, Whitwell; violation of probation; held, $2,500 bond
