Shelbyville man claims carjacking

Thursday, May 22, 2008
A Shelbyville man was reportedly robbed and threatened during a Saturday carjacking.

According to the Murfreesboro Post, 30-year-old Jason Swineheart of Shelbyville told Rutherford County authorities he was carjacked from Shelbyville by a black man and white woman Saturday evening.

A report by Rutherford County deputy Michael Moody stated that Swineheart "appeared to be very upset and was shaking uncontrollably."

Swineheart reportedly suffered a small cut to his right hand and was checked by paramedics.

The victim told Moody that the male assailant drove Swineheart's 1992 Ford Mustang to a vacant building on Miller Road near Danny's Food and Fuel on Buchanan Road in Rutherford County.

Then, a white man walked over to them and argued with the black man about "messing with his girl," Moody reported.

The black man turned the argument toward Swineheart and jumped on top of him, the deputy's report stated.

"He stated that the black male subject had a beer bottle in his hand and threatened to shoot him," Moody wrote. "He stated that the black male subject stole his wallet and cell phone and all three subjects fled the scene in an unknown direction."

The suspect ordered Swineheart to lay on the ground or he would be shot if he went for help, the report said.

After 10 minutes had padded, the victim sought help at Danny's. Swineheart's wallet was found at the crime scene but it was missing $300.

Swineheart's key ring and a cellular telephone were not recovered. His car was towed from the scene. Detective Ty Downing is investigating.

I hope we have some video camera's around in that area that got these criminals on tape. And I am glad Jason was not killed. Has anyone heard anything else about the woman that was kidnapped in Murfreesboro, whose daughter lives here in Shelbyville? The last I heard a man was seen parking her vehicle, and getting a bicycle out of the trunck, and riding off on the bicycle. The Derrick Rankins murder case hasn't been solved yet either.

On the woman that went missing, I think they should keep an eye on the husband. Sound awful funny. But then again she might had a boyfriend, and that the only way she get to to leave. These days you don't know what anybody going to do.

I missed hearing that about the husband. If that was him on the Bicycle, her daughter should be able to recognize him. It hurts knowing people are missing like this and wondering what is happening, or has happened to them.

I'm glad Jason was ok, Maybe the police dept. or some other organization can have a brief one hour training session once a month on self defense techniques; How to fight off an attacker for small groups that want it. Crime rate is going up, not down. And I'm so sick and tired of the kidnapping and murders going on. They still haven't found the Tabitha Tutters girl yet either.
