Friday, June 6, 2008
Bedford County's unemployment rate for April was 5.1 percent, down 0.7 percent from March, but up 1.4 percent compared to last year, according to figures released by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Yep, 5.1% is outstanding, but this country is only at the beginning of the recession, which we are not in according to Dubya.

I sure hope that I am wrong, but with the country going to hell in a thumb thimble under our current leadership we will be lucky if unemployment does not hit 25%.

Of course Mr. Baker will still stick by these crooks that have been and are still selling this country to anyone that can or will give kickbacks to Dubya and his cronies. I have to at least give Tim kudos for standing by his man.

Are you kidding? 5.1% is OUTSTANDING. The national average released today is 5.5% The closer you get to zero the higher inflation becomes which serves as a tax on everyone. Given that the economy has been slowing for 6 months a 5.1% is actually very healthy.

And before anyone says it, yes I realize that if you're one of the 5.1% it doesn't feel so outstanding. But it did decrease from the previous period nearly a whole percentage so more people went back to work.
