Barwago Liban, 26, of Shelbyville was identified as the driver of a Nissan Sentra that was struck by a locomotive on East Thompson Lane near Glenrose Avenue, according to information from the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Also killed was a back seat passenger, Nimo Gunn, 56, of Baltimore. A passenger in the front seat, Odo Sallah Hussein, age and hometown unavailable, is recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, metro police say.
The Sentra was traveling on East Thompson Lane at 1:50 a.m. Sunday when it came upon the railroad crossing with the gates down and warning lights and bells activated, police say.
For an unknown reason, the Sentra went around the gates and onto the track where it was struck by the train.

forgiveness, that is so true. My prayers go out to the ones involved and their families too. I try to pray for all, regardless of who they are or where they are from. You never know when it could be your loved one on these blogs that is being disrespected by people that don't know them or never even laid eyes on them.
Where is the empathy, sympathy, compassion and the respect for human beings. There's no need to speculate let alone assume anything. Because it is what it is two human beings lost their lives in a tragic accident as well as one being in the hospital recuperating. My prayers go out to the families of the occurence. I also must pray for you that are so cold hearted. Have you ever heard the saying if you can't say something good then don't say anything at all? If not I suggest you try it sometime.
Barwago Liban Seems he had another problem at Davis Estates last year.

I would say they were traveling home from working the night shift at Tyson Foods...*of course that is just an uneducated guess* Just because one of them had an ID from Baltimore does not mean that is were she was actually living. Many still hold old ID's from where they were previously living before coming to Shelbyville.
Why does the head line say "shelbyville Man?"
Okay, and that information is relevant how?
A little FYI they were all women.
gottago,
Of course it did because it is pretty much true, the sad fact is, the ones to blame are the refugee organizations that do not emphasize what steps they need to take to get proper licensing and documents. They are told to just play dumb and say you can't understand english, and the sad part is... the cops give up trying to be reasonable with them and basically walk away from it. Here in Shelbyville, the police are not falling for it, Praise all. They know from past experiences, but I cannot blame the Somalis, they don't know any better.
Fact is Most don't have a License they have learner permits. I am not sure they understand they need to go back to get the actual license.
Wonder what they were up to that late at night? Just seems like an odd trio given there ages and home towns.
EM,
I almost hate to say it, but your remark made me laugh.
They don't obey the laws here, why should they there? Oh guess the laws don't apply to .... Splat!
Yes, I know it was entirely PC, but I am not here to win popularity.
The reason they went around the gate is they can not drive. I would like to know how they get a license do we just hand that over like everything else.
I think they are all Somali names.
These don't appear to be local names that I have heard of. Was this one of the Somalians who moved to Shelbyville?
