Planning commission approves requests

Friday, June 27, 2008

Shelbyville's planning commission had a brief agenda Thursday, dealing with only three items.

A rezoning request was approved for Joe M. Lambert and Bobby G. Sanders for a parcel on East Cedar Street, from C-3 (Neighborhood Service District) to R-4 (High Density Residential).

Approval was given to a site preparation plan presented by OPM Properties for a 50,000 square foot building pad to be located on Hawkins Drive. The owner is Owen P. Marsh.

Site plan approval was granted to CalsonicKansei North America for an internal roadway extension approximately 700 feet long that would connect to Calsonic Way.

Commission members were reminded about a storm water seminar scheduled for July 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the city hall annex courtroom.

Presenters at the meting will be Robby Karesh, statewide stormwater coordinator, and Tim Wilder, of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation's division of water pollution control.

Interesting indeed.........I wonder if the city of Shelbyville is wanting to give away other property, if so, contact me at BR549!

I wonder why the city GAVE Bobby Sanders the strip of road between Davis Lane and Railroad Ave. that has been closed off. I am certain you or I would have had to purchase it. Now it is blocked off, an inconvenience, and an eyesore. Ask your councilman!
