Tracy wields heftiest budget

Sunday, July 27, 2008

The incumbent candidates for the state legislative seats representing Bedford County are unopposed in their party primaries, and can look ahead to the general election in November.

The challengers in both seats must first get through the primary election next month.

But all of them must file quarterly financial reports with the Tennessee Registry of Election Finance. The first and second quarter reports for the candidates, including the names and occupations of individual donors, are viewable online at www.state.tn.us/tref/.

Incumbent State Rep. Curt Cobb, a Democrat, and incumbent State Sen. Jim Tracy, a Republican, had the biggest bankrolls when the second quarter ended on June 30 -- but both of them actually had most of that money in hand at the beginning of the year, before the first quarter even started.

The 16th Senate District includes all of Bedford and Moore counties and part of Rutherford County.

The 62nd House District includes all of Bedford, part of Lincoln and a small part of Rutherford counties.

Why is Enterprise Rent a Car so interested in Tracy?
