Jewelry, cash taken in home burglaries

Large amounts of jewelry and cash were taken from two Shelbyville residences Tuesday, police said.

*A man and woman told police $4,000 in $100 bills and an estimated $3,000 worth of gold jewelry, including three Virgin Mary pendants, were stolen from their Tillett's Trailer Park home between 9 p.m. Monday and 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Twelve gold rings, three gold necklaces and another gold pendant were taken as well, the couple told police.

A door and drawers were open, and clothes strewn when the couple returned home, they said.

*An estimated $190, four rings, two bracelets and bottles of Belara and Elizabeth Taylor perfume were taken from a Bridlewood Drive home during daylight hours.

The resident said front and back doors were locked before she left for work. No signs of forced entry were found, police said.

Other incidents reported to Shelbyville police:

*A blue and silver 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck was stolen from the parking lot of an Elm Street office complex between 6 and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The owner told police he had left the truck unlocked with keys in the ignition.

*A Savage 12-gauge single-shot shotgun was taken from a bedroom at a Bates Street home between 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

*Two employees of Bedford County Nursing Home reported money taken from their purses Sunday and Monday nights.

Jail intake

The following were arrested since Friday by the Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Shelbyville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol or 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force and processed through Bedford County Jail. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts.

*Vicky C. Brewer, 45, Sims Road; public intoxication; released, $1,000 bond

*Sonya Lisa Bryant, 46, Old Unionville Road; DUI, driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $7,000 bond

*Phillip David Butler, 32, Green Lane; violation of probation; held, $10,000 bond

*Luis Alberto Camarillo, 19, U.S. 41-A North; violation of probation; released, $2,500 bond

*Andrew Welch Craze, 26, Murfreesboro; aggravated gambling promotion; released, $5,000 bond

*Roy Estrada, 21, Chockley Street; public intoxication; released, $500 bond

*Shaun Elizabeth Frame, 24, South Maple Street; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $1,000 bond

*Victor Glenn Gill, 48, Enden Avenue; aggravated gambling promotion; released, $5,000 bond

*Roetta Jewel Glascoe, 45, Rippy Ridge Road; violation check law; summons delivered

ok I understand about being able to tell Mexicans or Somalis by their names but I am not sure how you tell someone is Black or white just by their name unless you happen to know all of them.

Give it a rest already...I'm much more concerned about the people who are getting out of jail with no drivers licenese and DUI so they can go out and drink, drive, and be merry again than I am a few people throwing some money around a poker table. Poker players don't kill people, people who can't pass a DL test and go get drunk and drive anyway kill people. Wake up people.
