Police are looking for 24-year-old Timothy William Sparrow of Morton Street, Shelbyville.
Sparrow allegedly shot and killed someone in Williamson County early today, Detective Brian Crews of the Shelbyville Police Department said.
A BOLO (be on the lookout) message was issued for Sparrow and Shelbyville police spotted his vehicle and engaged in a short foot pursuit of the suspect, Crews said.
Sparrow is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
The detective also said that Williamson County authorities are in Shelbyville assisting with the search, concentrating their efforts in the Anthony Lane area, where Sparrow has family.
Sparrow is described as an African-American, 6' 3," weighing 265 pounds with short hair. Anyone with information should call the Shelbyville Police Department at 684-5811.

This scumbag looks like he has been on a weeklong crack high. The pose is not unlike those rapper thugs he no doubt emulates.
Yikes! He is scary.
I saw the police out with the German Shepherd this morning in that area. Hope they find him soon!
Before any of you start calling names, I know Timmy and have known him for a very long time. I do know that he would not just go up and murder someone and throw his life away that easy. He is not violent. Obviously something else goes with this story... Timmy has been threw some hard times and yes he has been to prison for selling drugs, but never in the 8 years that I have known Timmy has he ever even pulled a gun on anyone. He has lost his son at the age of 3 years old. He just had another baby, so you know he wouldnt do anything to jeopardize his child. The picture they show is not even how Timmy looks. So I say to Timmy Keep your head up, we are all praying for you. And Love you
little red,
Did you just fall off the turnip truck?
The correlation between violent crime and drug selling is so well known that any dolt to believe otherwise should just be allowed to wallow in his own stupidity and leave the rest of us alone. And just how many criminals give a rat's patooty how his crime effects his child?
I don't personally know the guy. Some say he would not just walk up & shoot somebody. What's the difference? He walked up & stabbed someone not too long ago! I hope they catch him! He should have already been locked up!
omg that is so sad about his son, how did he die?
May I remind everyone that murder happens by no specific gender, race, or creed. Set aside from how one lives his or her life no one deserves to die at the hands of another. Need I remind all there is always two sides to every story. INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY!
Forgiveness.... you're right, any gender, race, or creed can sling rock and be a thug... jack a sucker that's got a little more cash than he needs... Five-0 just puts that "armed and dangerous" label on anybody these days. Given he's going to such great lengths to evade arrest, I bet his side of the story is "I aint done nuthin, I aint seen nuthin, I dont know nuthin...I was home all night. Talk to my attorney"
Please....
Yea I agree...
PLEASE.
LOL
gottago is right. There is a direct correlation between drugs and violence, just look at the recent stabbing at that O'Charlie's in Nashville. It is very common for violence to become involved in drug transactions. Is that what happened in this case? Who knows. All I know is that this is Williamson county's problem. Let's hope they round him up, figure out what happened, and do what is just. If that means he's innocent, let him go. If not, follow the letter of the law.
The real sin and tragedy is that this ever got to this point.
Why do we even have a culture of drugs and violence he could get into?
What went wrong that he has to make himself look "scary"?
("The best defense is a good offense"?)
Somewhere, our world has forgotten that smart and strong and cool don't match up with being selfish and destructive.
We convince too many of our youth that if they aren't brutal and conniving, they better be able to fake it.
It wouldn't be hard to get caught up in a realm where mind-hampering substances are sold like Doritos.
Add in a health care system that could let hypertension go untreated and acts as if a sickle cell crisis needs no more than a few aspirin and it would be all too plausible a scenario for people's health to deteriorate past the point that their minds and bodies function normally.
The drugs that could provide financial support, status, pain relief (and a little oblivion) would be welcomed even if an illegal source meant they caused more trouble than they alleviated.
IF a basically sweet,well-liked young man could get trapped by wrong choices and have it lead to this sort of difficulty, what can we expect from the more troubled youngsters who have had fewer breaks?
We should assure our children have optimum levels of health and education but, mostly, love, security, responsible role models and an environment that offers the hope of a real future.
If not, then we can expect that we (as well as they) will suffer for it.
We can't concern ourselves about our safety and liberty being threatened by outside forces if we ignore the child in the womb,on the playground or in our schools who isn't protected at every step from being snared by ignorance, illness, abuse, hate, fear, poverty of body and spirit and a wordview that equates power with "doing unto others BEFORE they do unto you."
We can invest in warehousing or killing those who threaten our society or we can let an ounce of prevention bring us adults whose lives are a blessing to themselves, their families and the rest of their community.
The arrogance on this man's face is appalling.
The arrogance on this man's face is appalling.
I hear these things all of the time. It's another bad mark on society. I'm not judging anyone and I believe that if you do a horrible crime you should be punished accordingly. It's things like this that make people lose hope for our future. Why should we keep looking forward when there's so much evil and corruption in this world? Sparrow may or may not have murdered that man, that's for the court to decide. All we do know right now is that SOMEONE did shoot that man and Sparrow is the lead suspect.
What makes it hard is that I have a small child and I hope that I can convince her that there is good people in this world. There are still people who will help out strangers and ask nothing in return. I believe that there is hope for society and will not give up that hope. I also hope that I will be strong enough to protect her from all the negative in this world and also strong enough to let her live her life and learn and grow from her mistakes. This tragedy is just a black eye, not to mention a horrible situation.
I believe that there is a little bit of good in everyone, call me nieve. Everyone started out with the innoncence of a child, and may have lost touch with it, but it's still buried deep down inside.
I believe that one day everyone will be judged one way or the other, and only they have to deal with their own deamons, and of course the people they hurt along the way.
I will always have hope that one day things will be amazing. It may take death for that to happen, but if it does, then I won't have to worry about all the crap that goes on in this world.
People tend to forget in situations like this that a man is dead. The officers and detectives are trained to deal with these situations. If they didn't think without doubt that he was their guy, they wouldn't have issued the BOLO or warrants. They must have had strong evidence to accuse someone of murder. I don't understand why everyone seems to critize the people that keep you safe at night and answer all your complaints.
Sometimes I wander if murder is really the worst of human nature. But I still have hope and faith that everyone will get what they deserve in life and that one day everything will work itself out.
I would take that photo the same way I take it when the news stations come to a town like Shelbyville when something happens and find the most trailer park-ish looking person that they can find. I have no idea what happened immediately preceding the photo included and I would imagine that whatever it was, he was most likely not happy with his situation. As far as our judicial system goes, he IS innocent until proven guilty and he may very well be that, but that's for a jury to decide after seeing the evidence presented. If the prosecution presents a compelling case (beyond a reasonable doubt) then he will be convicted. If not, then he will be acquitted.
I sure hope some people aren't on the jury if I'm ever accused of something.
SUPERX1250
You have no clue. LOL who made you judge and jury. I sure hope you're not one sitting on it. PLEASE!
OOPS I forgot superx1250 here's a correction on your spelling it's nothing not nuthing.
i can pretty much tell you that pic looks like it was from a jail intake thats probly why he is lookin like he is pissed cause he probly was duh
If I ever have to have a jury trial (which I hope I never do) but if I do, I am going to ask that one of the questions to potential jury members be "Do you read the on-line edition of the t-g" Cause if they do it should be an automatic disqualification. Too much info given before it even goes before a judge.

i think it's funny that all yall will come on here and tlk a whole lot of mess about someone yall don't know nothing about. half of yall prolly never even heard of no timmy sparrow until today. quit tlkn noise because timmy IS NOT a bad person. can't no body really speak on the situation cuz don't no body really know what happened. and for yall tryna tlk about his lil picture or whatever....yeah...it was from where he went to prison...but that gives you no right to judge him from a photo. you wouldn't wan't people comin on here tlkn stuff about you if you were on here. ya'll don't know nothin bout this man so yall need to keep yall's mouth closed. timmy is harmless. and if he DID do it...he was PROVOKED. somebody had to have done somethin to him that yall can't speak on cuz yall don't know all the details. if you got people who will come to your home and put your newborn son in danger and your family...you'd go do something too. he don't take too kindly to stuff like that...especially when he lost his first son. but all i can say yall don't have anything to do with this so yall don't need to be speaking on it. you don't have any right to talk shxt about a man that you don't even know. ---out.---

Seriously? You can tell this just by looking at a cruddy pixelized picture? Or maybe he's had a VERY long day (it does look kind of like a booking photo) and is just REALLY tired. Good thing for this fella that his trial won't be here in Bedford county.
Well they really do need to get this man off the streets. But the media really has a way of scaring the crap out of people. No wonder people have to pack guns in their homes, to make sure they are safe. This happen this morning and we still don't know where this man is or if hes been caught.
Its hard to leave it up to the right people. But when I hear that this type of person is loose and running,I have my family protected in every way I can.I never ever believed in shoot first ask questions later. And have always been a law abiding person. But a person has got to do what they have to do to protect thier families.
Even if he is caught,he will most likily get a MIS TRIAL or get out of the time for the crime any way.Or we will support him in jail or prison.
Prayer is the answer...to pray that this man doesn't walk up and be facing the barrel of a gun himself. Because I'm sure theres more like me who will shoot first, then answer questions later.
All the bad news in Bedford County is really getting bad. Before you know it, we will be like the big cities, like Nashville,Murfreesboro,ect...
With the crime in it.We need to get our safe county back and set examples for the ones who does the crimes.Make them REAP what they SOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I did not see the 10:00pm news, but the 6:00pm news reported that the crime happened in the small community of College Grove and of the 5 people at the scene, he was the only one reportedly to have left.
TIMMY WAS ALWAYS A GOOD PERSON IN SCHOOL.I BELIEVE HE WAS TRAPPED INTO THIS SITUATION,AND HE IS NOT CAPABLE OF HARMING ANYONE OUT OF HIS OWN FREE WILL.FACTS AND EVIDENCE MAY PROVE THE DEGREE OF GUILT IN TIMMY'S CASE.ALSO CONSIDER THE SOURCE OF THE SO-CALLED EYE WITNESSES.DRUGGIES.I HOPE TIMMY BEATS THE RAP.HE IS NOT A BAD PERSON.

My goodness, where did you attend school or rather DID you attend school? Your blog is almost impossible to read. Our schools are not perfect but I know they have teachers that teach English better than what you use. Did you learn it on the streets with Timmy? Is Timmy your supplier and has the drugs fried your brain?
Harmless!! I have also known Timmy Sparrow for many years and as long as i have ever known of him he has been a drug dealer now turned drug addict (happens often), violent thug . Yes, on the other hand i have known him to be very sweet and funny person with an infectious smile, but the bottom line is he has been on this path for a while and know he has commited the ultimate crime of murder and will have to answer to this crime, or spend his life on the run. Lets not forget he almost killed someone 2 months ago in kroger parking lot with a knife.
I have seen Timothy a few times before, I do not personally know him, but know some of his family. I hope he does the right thing and turn himself in. The story from Williamson County states the people their at the house said their was "possibly" an altercation between the two. Did not state anything about drugs involved, they are still investigating it though. They would not post the person that was killeds' name until they have found his next of kin.

Have they caught him yet, I need to mow my yard
WELL I HAVE KNOWN LITTLE TIM FOR LONG TIME TOO, LIKE 24 YEARS(ALL HIS LIFE) BUT HAVE NOT SEEN HIM IN A LONG TIME, SO I WILL NOT SAY IF I THINK HE IS THIS NOR THAT, BUT I WILL SAY TO THOSE WHO LOVE AND SUPPORT SOMEONE WRONG OR RIGHT TO JUST UPLIFT THIS YOUNG MAN IN PRAYER AND HIS FAMILY. BEING A NATIVE OF SHELBYVILLE I CAN SAY THAT EVERYONE KNOWS EVERYONE FAMILY SOMEHOW OR ANOTHER UNLESS YOU WERE A TRANSFER TO THE AREA, SO THIS COULD BE ONE OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS PICTURE AND WRITE UP ON HERE, SO PLEASE DONT MAKE OPINIONS BASED ON A LOOK FROM A MEDIA PHOTO. THAT IS TO SELL THE STORY BETTER. THEY COULD HAVE EASILY PUT HIS GRADUATION PICTURE IN THE PAPER FROM SCHS, IF THEY WANTED TO, AND WE STILL WOULD NO THE MAN. SO RELAX AND LET THE SYSTEM DO WHAT IT DOES. REMEMBER THERE IS A SPOT FOR YOUR NAME ON THE POLICE MOST WANTED SITE TOO, IF YOU DONT CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS.... AND I'M OUT! SUPPORT YOUR LOVE ONE SPARROW FAMILY THROUGH IT ALL!!!!!! NATIVE 1.
Have they caught him yet? Any sightings?
I can't actually believe what I'm reading on some of these comments. "He's not a bad person...he just sells drugs...he just stabbed somebody once...he must have been provoked to murder somebody..." WHAT THE CRAP?? I've been angry before but didn't kill anyone. I've had someone get in my home that wasn't supposed to be there and I felt they were endangering my family and guess what...I CALLED THE POLICE. They came and helped me with the problem. Do you know why? BECAUSE I AM NOT A DRUG DEALER!! I had no fear of calling them!
Let me phrase this one special...
Fr sum uf thos of yu who are defnding Timmy, wher did yu go to schol? who grade did yu drop out uv? can't no never not learn if yu dont go tu schol
If you can't even make your post readable don't waste the time of those that take these seriously.
These posts are cracking me up....
lg81707,
I can't believe you actually type like that.
So sad.
So sad.
That would be called slang with small texting. If you don't know slang, you will have a hard time understanding it. They have caught Timothy in Tullahoma. My prayers go out to the family that have lost their loved one. And I pray this young man repents his sin, and realized the damage he has cost Many many people including his own family. I know the pain and anger this man who is now deads' family may and will feel. I have lost a relative 6 months ago whose Killers have been captured and not charged still, even with all the evidence. (CONFESSION of one) Kind of funny aint it, "NOT"!
Well at least he wasn't gambling
Well, I have to say...this is a shocker. I saw Timmy for the first time in several years at my church recently (maybe a month ago). I have known Timmy since he was a young child and even covered him for the T-G when he was playing high school football for the Golden Eagles. What I know about Timmy is that he has always been very mild- mannered and very polite and kind to his elders and his classmates. This is a very startling suprise to me. I'm sure Timmy's peers, coaches and former school teachers would agree. I could not see Timmy reacting so violently without himself or his own family having been threatened unless he had been using drugs unbeknownst to me. It's really a shame that so often this seems to happen with young adults in this small town of ours. Hope in the form of Crack Cocaine comes here disguised as wealth and power for many of our youngsters who can't seem to get ahead. What a shame. If Timmy is guilty, I doubt he will deny his guilt in a court of law. Furthermore, if Timmy commited this crime in self defense or the defense of his children - then may the courts, the public and God show mercy on this young man.
I wonder as I am sitting here reading these comments how many of us would like what is being said about this young man if it were a member of our own family being charged with murder. I do not know this Timmy person but I firmly believe that until we know the facts of the case we should not be trying to sigh his death warrant. How many of us responding to this story a lawyer or a judge? I know I am not and nor am I on the list of possible juriors. Thank God because all the rumors going around are overwhelmingly against a man who just might possibly be innocent. Like I said we do not know we were not there and we do not know all the facts of this case. If he is guilty he will pay the price whether in be life in prison or execution he will pay the ultimate price when he goes before God. So before we continue to speculate on this young man I ask you to see back and think about how you would feel if it were a member of your own family. And to the Sparrow family and the family of the man that was killed my thoughts and prayers go out to you on your long journey.
To all those that say he is a good young man...keep in mind The good die young.....and the good sometimes do things that they shouldn't. And being provoked doesn't justify anything!!!! I pray for each family and God be with us all!!!
I can see pain & despair in this young man's face. Remember there is two sides to every story. This young man has not told us his side of the story. For those of you in the Christian faith, recall how Moses killed a man and ran to the wilderness and found God. This young man & his family are in my prayers.
"Judge not, that you be not judged." Matt. 7:1
I am the mother jose acosta's child. My son is soon to be three years old. It is very heart breaking to tell your child every time he ask for his "daddy" that you have to tell him he is in the sky with God. And i feel so sorry for Jose brother. The death of his brother has made him a very angery person. I just pray to God that he will get over his brothers death. And jose mom who lives in cuba still doesn't know her was murdered. She thinks he died of natural causes. I have came a long way in my on life. So with that being said life is to short to be mad and not forgiving.
