A Shelbyville man accused of a first degree murder in Williamson County has been captured, according to police.

Timothy William Sparrow, 24, was taken into custody at a home on West Grundy Street in Tullahoma early Tuesday afternoon after Bedford County authorities were notified of his whereabouts by a telephoned tip, Sheriff Randall Boyce said.

"We got a tip that he was on Grundy Street in Tullahoma," Boyce said. "Williamson County was here with us at the time. We hooked them up with Tullahoma and they left immediately."

"Two investigators from Williamson County came here," said Sgt. Jason Ferrell of the Tullahoma Police Department. "We got together, went to the residence and confirmed he was inside. He was arrested without incident."

José Acosta Arias, 44, of College Grove, was allegedly murdered in his home early Monday morning by Sparrow, the Williamson County Sheriff's Department said.

Sparrow was later spotted, and briefly chased, in Shelbyville a few hours later before eluding authorities, city police said.

Arias is to be buried Saturday in Bedford County, at Simpson Cemetery in Rover.

Wonder if he's decided electric chair or lethal injection yet.

That's was really a tacky comment. The man has not even been to court yet. I do believe someone is innocent until proven guilty.

Dianatn tell that to the family who lost their family member. I wonder if you'd have the same feeling if a member of your family was murdered???

He did the crime, hes to do the time.

But they will put him in jail so you and I and every other tax payer can support him.

Or say he was insane and get away with it.

Wheelbillie

I understand what you are saying because I can honestly say if it were my family member they'd better keep him locked up for his safety if in fact he did the crime.

But we do not know the details of what happened..we have no idea if this other man attacked him first..we don't even know for sure he did the crime.

Until you know the facts you really shouldn't convict the man.

I don't know him from Adam in fact if I have ever even seen him I don't remember it..so I am not a family friend or relative here..I am just somebody who thinks everyone deserves a Fair Trial.

How ruthless of a statement is that tatersue. Just like your name holds no merit. I hope you don't get picked to sit on the jury or ever have anything to do with the Judicial System.

I have a 3 year son by the man who was murdered and he will never know his father. It is heart breaking every time he ask about his dad. I know Joses brother is very angery still. He can't get over his brothers death. Joses mom that lives in cuba still doesn't know that her son was murdered. We told her he died of natural causes.
