Michael Tadeoo Martinez, 31, of Shelbyville, allegedly ran from the front porch of a Bridlewood Drive home as officers exited their patrol cars, police said. Reports indicate officers had been called to remove an intoxicated person who was knocking on the front door.
"Officer (J.R.) Garza and I chased him through and around multiple yards in the trailer park," Officer Jody Shelton said.
The suspect, Shelton said, was ordered to stop numerous times in both Spanish and English.
"Officer Garza ordered him to stop again, he stopped to turn and Officer Garza shot the subject with his Taser," Shelton said. "I then applied handcuffs on the subject and Officer Garza put on latex gloves and removed the probes from the subject's back."
After a supervising officer arrived and verified Martinez was "okay," Shelton said, he was taken to Bedford County Jail and charged with evading arrest and public intoxication.

Obviously you do, since you commented on it. : )
Gotten any Love much.
Oh, get over it. He shouldn't have ran in the first place. It was a spic, who cares?
Shelbyville's Tasers should have cameras on them like the one they have been showing on the news that metro has now.
The way the story is written it sounds like he was running backwards. If he stopped, turned then the officer shot him with the taser, and removed the tazer from his back, then that mean he was running away from the officers backwards.
Funny! He He.
"stopped to turn"..... To me that means he was getting ready to fight the cop.
"Officer Garza ordered him to stop again, he stopped to turn and Officer Garza shot the subject with his Taser," Shelton said. "I then applied handcuffs on the subject and Officer Garza put on latex gloves and removed the probes from the subject's back."
Umm...does anyone else see a problem with this? The subject STOPPED and was then shot with a Taser? I know he was running, but at the point where the officer shot him with the Taser, he had stopped (that means he was no longer running).
