Roll out the red carpet, Shelbyville, Hollywood is back in town.

"Four on the Floor," the movie shot partly in Wartrace at Cascade High School by Jon Russell Cring, will have its premiere at the Capri 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased ahead of time at the Shelbyville Record Shop, across the street from the theater.

"Just about everybody will be there," said Cring. "All of the actors and hopefully a lot of the extras and some of the bands. The response has been really, really great.

"I think there's about 350 seats at the Capri and we've probably already sold a quarter of those. With the word getting out, people need to jump on it."

Cring said copies of the movie will be available for sale, as will the soundtrack.

"It's a rock musical and it went absolutely outstanding," said Cring. "We had so much incredible response from all the Nashville bands. There were about 30 local and Nashville bands who submitted music for the movie."

Among those bands were Luna Halo and De Novo Dahl. Luna Halo, a Nashville-based band, also has a song, "Kings & Queens," featured in the documentary "American Teen," which won an award at the Sundance Film Festival this year.

De Novo Dahl, also Nashville-based, has appeared at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo.

Another local favorite who shows up in the film is Southern comedian Killer Beaz. Beaz has been such a staple at Zanies in Nashville -- with more appearances than any other -- his promoters refer to the venue as "The House That Beaz Built!"

Four on the Floor is a rock musical teen comedy, said Cring.

"It's the story of four friends who open up an automotive garage so they can have a place where they can work, sleep, and perform. The only problem is, they don't know anything about cars. Hilarity ensues," he said. "You've got cars, football, rock 'n' roll and teenagers. What else do you really need in a movie? I guess Mom and apple pie..."

The movie was filmed in and around Nashville, as well as at Cascade High School, where graduate Alex Dycus, who has a role in the film, got a warm homecoming. She will be going back on Friday, Sept. 12, with other members of the cast, to visit her old school around lunch time.

"Alex and a whole bunch from the movie are going to sign autographs, let them know about the movie and stir up some energy," said Cring.

Alex hasn't seen the completed film yet.

"A couple of the actors have been sneaking in," said Cring, laughing. "They come by and say 'Hey, what's going on?' and the first thing they want to do is see clips from us. So far, they've liked what they've seen."

He said one reviewer with a Nashville radio station saw the film and also liked what he saw.

"He said it went places that surprised him with the depth of the story line," said Cring.

The movie poster, which should start appearing around town today, was a shot taken at Cascade.

"We shot another film in the area there, 'The Drive,' a political thriller," said Cring, whose production company, Extra/Ordinary Films has made 12 movies in 20 months. "That's why we came back to Cascade -- because of the great response we got from the high school, the students, all the people there."

It took about 10 days to shoot the movie and another month to edit it.

After the premiere, Cring and his crew, including his father, John, who writes the scripts, and his brother, Jasson, who stars in the movie and sings five of the original songs, will take their work on the road.

"We are submitting it to about 20 film festivals as soon as the premiere is finished," said Cring. "We'll also be touring the country, taking our films into theaters and colleges."

After that -- and 20 months of filmmaking -- the Crings are going to take a break.

"The next movie, we'll probably go down to Florida and shoot on the beach In February," said Cring. "It's an as yet untitled science fiction story."

My family and I have an invitation to get tickets, well, you can sell mine to someone else. We will not be attending. After seeing the movie trailer I am ashamed that we were in the stands at Cascade School as they filmed. I have forwarded the trailer to friends and they agree and will not be supporting the film.

I have not seen the trailer of this movie. I tried to find it, but have not as of yet.

I also saw the trailer and had second thoughts on kids watching the movie. Has anyone seen the movie or know the film rating? If you have give us your opinion.

The trailer is in several places.

It Starts on its own here:

I am confused, on the website it states its pg13, even though I don't trust hollywood to decide what is appropriate for my kids. I have no problem watching the film with my adult friends, and then if I think my kids would enjoy it and I can explain to them anything they might have questions about, then I will let them watch it on DVD. Ratings arent a replacement for parenting. Some pg13 movies are disgustingly violent, and some are just inanely stupid. I saw the preview and I thought it looked cute, but it is a movie about teenagers, so I figure anyone not a teenager shouldn't assume they could watch it. I think its ridiculous to just not go, because your kids cant go. Anyway has anyone actually looked at the rating guide? The MPAA states: A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. See, Parents have to make that decision, but how can you make it based on a preview? Don't you have to know something about the film before you start putting it down? I had a friend that went to the filming at the high school and she said they played football, and cheered. That sounds tame? Why would you mind that? I will be going and I am a CHRISTIAN MOM, Christian Dad, so I hope you have a more open mind next time.

Ok, seriously.

As someone who has been rather close to the project, and I can go ahead and tell you that in addition to this movie having a positive message for teenagers, the film has very little cursing (the word "hell" is used maybe once), very few sexual innuendos, no drug or alcohol use (the characters in the movie actually take a stance AGAINST alcohol and drugs), and the film has no sex (yes, a girl is in her underwear for one scene). So yeah, it's about a band, and teenagers, and rock n' roll, but it actually takes the wholesome, clean route--the opposite of what Hollywood would do with a premise like that.

No, it is not "Finding Nemo". Parental Guidance is suggested. But I have no problem at all bringing my little brother and little cousin to the premiere. They are looking forward to it. And so am I.

Oh, and I'm a Christian.

I am not judging anyone who wants to attend. My wife and I guard what our children do and see to the best of our abilities. I know that we cannot always be there, so we have to trust them to make the right decisions when they are out on their own. So when we are with them we are not going to allow them to participate in what we feel is "borderline" as per our family morality. As for "very few sexual innuendos" that is still too many for me to allow my kids to see. But if you feel you want to see it, then by all means...no judgement is being passed. However, as for me and my house we will not be seeing or purchasing this movie.

I do hope that I am wrong and that this movie does turn out to be pretty good. I know that would be exciting for the community.

Did anyone go see the movie? What did you think of it?
