According to a report by Trooper Jason McGee, 42-year-old Melissa Grace Bennett, of Manchester died after her eastbound Ford F-150 truck swerved to miss being hit by a 2002 Ford Mustang driven by a Tullahoma woman, 19-year-old Stacie LeAnn Lowe.
The report stated that Lowe was attempting to change lanes before she noticed Bennett in the lane beside her and chose not to shift lanes.
However, Bennett reportedly overcorrected while trying to avoid Lowe, left the interstate and the truck rolled several times. Bennett was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Melissa Bennett to our hospital family," said Pam Fisher, public relations director for Heritage Medical Center.
"She was a talented nurse and valuable employee whose compassion for her patients and friendships with her co-workers will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with her family and friends."

Very Sad, My prayers for the family.
I just want to say to BGPJ that posted that first comment, how rude can you be? That was my stepmother that you are talking about. Yes, it was a tragic event that happen but have some compassion on this please. My three younger brothers now have to grow up without a mother and my father is now without a wife. Think about others feelings before you post something ok. So what if both were at fault a life was still lost that day and we need to have some respect for the dead. The young lady will have to live with the fact that she killed a mother of five (two stepdaughters & three of her own) for the rest of her life. And all of her children will have to live with the 'WHAT IF Mommy did this different?' for the rest of our lives.
