It's not over until it's over. Webb Middle and Fayetteville City endured a vigorous battle Monday night in the Middle Tennessee Small Schools District Soccer Tournament.

Regulation ended 3-3. Then came a scoreless 10-minute overtime. Finally after the second penalty shootout, the Lady Feet rose to victory.

The Webb Lady Feet now take on the Westwood/South Lincoln winner in Bell Buckle on Friday at 5.

"I hope this time we show up and play the best we can," Webb coach A.J. Swafford said. "If we play the best we can, then we got a shot at it."

The Lady Tigers gained the first possesion of the game, but were unable to put up the first points in the net. Lady Feet Karly Grissom tallied it up at 4:06 in the first half with a shot that reflected off the goal post. Within 3:30 seconds, the Lady Tigers answered with a goal by striker Courtney Storey.

At 14:28 in the half, Storey scored again. Then with 12:54 left in the half, Webb's McKenna Hoover shuffled in the box and evened the score, only to be answered yet again by a Storey goal seven minutes later.

The Lady Feet tied it up again in the second half with Karly Grissom scoring off an assist by Madeline Castellon in the 42nd minute.

Without a score in overtime, the game deffered to a penalty shootout from five players of each team.

The first shoot out resulted in a tie of 2-2. Grissom and Emilee Gibson scored back to back for the Lady Feet. Amy Ann McCormick and Anna Barnes netted the goals for Fayetteville City.

The second penalty shootout gave the Webb Lady Feet the win. In their last chance to tack on another point, Savannah Burchett sealed the victory.

"Fayettville has definitely improved since the last time we played them," Webb coach A.J. Swafford said. "I wish more of (goals) had fallen, and we weren't keeping them from shooting as much. Our defense pulled it together at the end. We practiced this (penalty shootouts), luckily. Unfortunately we missed a whole lot more than we should.

"(The penalty shootout) was still nerve racking for them, especially the goalie, this is her first year playing goalie."
