Wednesday, September 24, 2008

The rings, with a combined value over $9,500, belong to an agent with Crye-Leake Realtors, who left her purse at a Conquest Court home at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The purse was gone when she returned Monday morning.

The owner told police a door had accidentally been left unlocked.

Who leaves a purse with $10,000 worth of rings in it sitting on a porch and truly expects it to be still sitting there the next day?

As a person who has left their purse a few times and who has taken their rings off for reasons relating to swelling/skin irritation, I understand fully.

I'm not trustworthy enough to leave mine like that though. I would be likely to lock my purse in the car (but then I might also forget and lock my keys in it also).

I know I frequently am running through my next few hours schedule in my head so that I lose track of what I am presently doing. Maybe a fault, but we all have 'em.

I agree with stardust! I've been known to put jewelry in my purse also. I learned my lesson after having a $3,000.00 ring stolen out of mine. I was planning to sell it because my ex-husband gave it to me and I had no intentions of ever wearing it again. It doesn't matter why they were in her purse, they were hers. I didn't file a claim because mine was taken by a relative. If they can live with it, I can live without it!!!

Having the rings in her purse wasn't the big problem in my opinion it was leaving it on a porch of somewhere she didn't apparently even live.

Dianatn I agree with your comment also, not very smart! When I go somewhere and dont need my purse I lock it in the car and carry my keys.
