Liberty takes homecoming showdown by 38

Liberty Middle celebrated homecoming in a big way by downing Huntland Middle 44-6 on Thursday night for their first win of the season.

After the Hornets took a quick 6-0 lead, Tunde Onakoya got the Patriots on the board with a 65-yard touchdown run. David Delrio made it back from an injury and scored the two-point conversion to put Liberty ahead 8-6 and they never looked back.

Onakoya, Jake Crosslin, Jesse Crosslin, Cajun Kemp and Josh Nave all added TDs from there. Delrio made other trips to the end zone on conversions and Jesse O'Dell added a two-pointer himself.

The Patriots hit the road next week to take on Columbia Academy.
