Strong second half lifts Cascade

Friday, October 3, 2008

Ashley Bledsoe's goal with 12 minutes remaining in the soccer match capped off a trio of unanswered scores to lift Cascade past DeKalb County 3-2 in Smithville on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers jumped out on top after a pair of goals from Cynthia Woodard with an assist from Daryl Holly and carried that advantage into intermission.

A pair of freshmen tied the game at 2-all when Katie Moulder and Emily Lewis both pounded home goals within the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Cascade (6-3-1) got 12 saves in goal from Angel McBryant. Kayla Harshman tallied 10 saves for the hosts.

The Lady Champions return to their District 11-A/AA schedule when they travel to face rival Forrest in Chapel Hill on Monday night at 6.
