Philip Gentry of Wartrace has created a mini-park on his own to commemorate the headquarters of Confederate Gen. William Hardee during the Tullahoma campaign. The U.S. House of Representatives has reauthorized a battlefield preservation program that would give up to $10 million to agencies outside the National Park Service who are trying to save Civil War sites.
