Wallet thief forces way into home

A man forced his way into a Shelbyville home Wednesday night and stole a wallet after pushing its owner aside, Shelbyville police said.

The victim said the suspect entered his Deery Street house by breaking door glass, then grabbed him, threw him on a couch and grabbed the wallet from a pants pocket before fleeing.

Contents included $212 and personal documents, police said.

The suspect was described as black, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing aproximately 200 pounds, and wearing a white shirt and light-colored, possibly white, pants.

* Approximately $1,500 worth of jewelry was stolen from a Shaw Road residence during the day Tuesday, a Bedford County Sheriff's Department report said.

Entry was made through a window, the BCSD said.

* Two lawn mowers were stolen between 4 and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday from outside a residence on Old Columbia Road, a BCSD report said.

The following were arrested since Wednesday by the Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Shelbyville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol or 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force and processed through Bedford County Jail. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts.

* William Robert Bukar, 26, Tullahoma; bondsman surrender (failure to appear); held, $1,000 bond

* Bryan Matthew Davis, 23, Old Pencil Mill Road; violation of probation; held, no bond

* Robert Dean Garrett, 48, Garrett Road; theft of property; summons delivered

* Antonio Pena Gutierrez, 55, Murfreesboro; public intoxication; held, $500 bond
