City police search for robbery suspect

Shelbyville police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed Tennessee Title Loans on Thursday.

Michelle Hamlin told police that a black male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a camouflage mask or scarf over his face "came into the store and told her that he wanted all of the money she had in her desk drawer."

Hamlin told police she did not see any type of weapon, but the man kept one hand in his pocket all times. She placed the money and two money orders in a plastic bag the suspect brought with him and he left on foot, going east on Madison St.

Police searched the area but failed to find the susepct. He is described as approximately 6'0" to 6'1" in height and slender in build and his skin was very dark in color. He was also "wear some type of blue pants or blue jeans" the report read.

Child neglect

Shelbyville authorities reported a possible case of child neglect Thursday on Templeton St.

A girl attending Southside School told her mother she missed the bus and "was told by the step-father that it was her own fault," according to a police report.

The child then got dressed and walked to school in the rain, but before she arrived, a woman whose child is in the same class saw her and took her the rest of the way to school.

The girl had to totally reclothe due to being soaked and was fed breakfast. The girl also told police she had not eaten the night before and a referral was made to the Department of Chidren Services on her behalf.

Thefts

* A resident of Couch Lane reported to Shelbyville police that someone entered his home and stole 33 oxycodone pills from his prescription bottle.

* A warrent has been obtained for a man that apparently did not like the terms of a gift certificate.

Vickie Stewart at Bedford County Farmers Co-op told Shelbyville police a man came in Thursday to buy several items with a gift certificate. However, the cahsier told the man that the gift card was purchased two years ago, was only good for 90 days after purchase and he would have to pay for the items.

Instead, the man took the bag of items, left the store and got into a black Nissan pick-up. The person has been positively indentified and a warrent for his arrest has been obtained.

The following were arrested since Wednesday by the Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Shelbyville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol or 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force and processed through Bedford County Jail. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts.

* Michael Lee Hall, 34, Belmont Ave.; driving on revoked; released, $1,500 bond.

* Eric Trenton Keener, 24, Palmer, TN; hold -extradition - another state; held, no bond.

* Timothy Ford McCain, 19, Burt St.; violation of probation, failure to appear, released, $500 bond.

* Roger Dale Pruitt, 23, Hurricane Grove Rd.; violation of probation; released, $2,500 bond.

* Amie Jean Seay, 30, Unionville; driving on revoked, speeding 21 miles over limit; held, $5,000 bond.

* William Robert Taylor, 22, Stonefield Circle; aggravated assault, vandalism; released, $6,000 bond.

* Marco Antonio Zuniga, 27, Maple St.; driving on revoked, financial responsibility, violation registration law; released, $2,000 bond.

* Roderick Wendell Brooks, 29, King Ave.; violation of probation; released, $2,500 bond.

* Leroy A. Edwards Jr., 27, Derry St.; violation of probation; released, $2,500 bond.

* Greg Allan Garner, 54, Bell Buckle; theft of property; released, $250 bond.

* Kenneth Lawrence Green, 48, Boston St.; driving on revoked, financial responsibility; held, $3,000 bond.

* Jimmy Martin Patterson, 40, Murfreesboro; failure to appear; held, no bond.

* Salvador Gustavo Serrano, 38, Elizabeth St.; no drivers license; released, $500 bond.

* Joshua Lamont Sims, 27, Pass Rd.; failure to appear, bondsman surrender; held, $5,000 bond.

* Dennis Keith Targin, 48, Lane Parkway; criminal trespassing; released.

* Joshua John Tucilla, 27, East Parkway; driving on revoked, financial responsibility; released, $500 bond.

* Randi Marquietta Tate, 23, Unionville; to serve time -general sessions court; held.

* Jessie James Warrick, 35, Thompson Rd.; criminal trespassing; released.

* James Donald Whittaker II, 18, Green Lane; child abuse, neglet/endangerment; held, $7,000 bond.
