Client's wallet stolen at DHS office

A client at the Department of Human Services told Shelbyville police her wallet was taken after it fell from her clothing Tuesday at the DHS office.

The victim said the wallet, which was found in the parking lot without the money moments later, apparently fell from a coat pocket as she tended to a child.

Dogs taken

Two boxer puppies, one white and brindle female and a black and brindle male, were stolen between 9 and 11 a.m. Monday from a Nutmeg Drive residence, police report.

Stolen car found

A vehicle unexpectedly found in the driveway of a home on Highway 82 East near Bell Buckle on Christmas morning definitely wasn't a gift from Santa Claus.

The 1997 Jeep Cherokee had been stolen in Cookeville, Deputy Lindsey Puckett said.

The license plate had been stolen in Pulaski and altered, and the steering column was punched, allowing use without a key, Puckett said.
