Good deed turns sour: Attack, robbery results

A man who offered a ride to a pedestrian on New Year's Eve night told Shelbyville police the rider attacked and robbed him.

The victim drove the walker, a man, to Riverwalk Park where he was attacked, police said.

The suspect began beating and kicking the victim in the presence of four to five men and a woman, then took his wallet, cell phone and an unrevealed amount of money and slashed his car's tires, according to police.

Bedford County Emergency Medical Service transported the man to Heritage Medical Center where he was treated and released, police said.

Homes entered

* A computer, printer and jewelry were taken from a Ranchero Trailer Park home Tuesday after a neighbor saw four man in the area acting suspiciously, police said.

The neighbor told police she heard one of the men ask, "Are they gone?" before they disappeared behind the victim's residence.

A door was open and the computer gone when the neighbor checked the trailer, police said.

* A cell phone, DVD player, jewelry, $30 and documents including employment and pernament resident cards were stolen from an Earnhart Street home Wednesday, Shelbyville police said.

A window was broken to gain entry, according to police.

Rings missing

A Unionville woman told the Bedford County Sheriff's Department she suspects several expensive rings stolen from her purse between Oct. 23 and Dec. 27 were taken at Heritage Medical Center or Glen Oaks Convalescent Center.

The following were arrested since Tuesday by the Shelbyville Police Department, Bedford County Sheriff's Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol or 17th Judicial District Drug Task Force and processed through Bedford County Jail. They are only charged; guilt or innocence will be determined by the courts.

* Joshua Anthony Gurdak, 24, Tullahoma; driving on revoked/suspended liecnse, reckless driving; released, $1,500 bond

* Jeffrey Darnell Hardin, 32, Sanders Street; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $250 bond

* Zachery Joseph Harvey, 21, Country Estates Road; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $1,000 bond

* Mark Nathen Hodges, 36, Manchester; failure to appear; held, $2,500 bond

* Jennie Marie Lopez, 45, Lentz Street; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $250 bond

* Kitty Lee Mitchell, 53, Madison Street; public intoxication; released, $500 bond

* Eduardo Nunez, 28, Ranchero Drive; driving on revoked/suspended license, criminal impersonation; released, $3,000 bond

* Debbie Lynn Owens, 42, Winchester; hindering secured creditor; released, $3,000 bond

* Christopher Lee Richardson, 24, Brown Lane; driving on revoked/suspended license; released, $500 bond

* Topeka Shea Robinson, 30, Manchester; possession of schedule II drug; held, $10,000 bond

* Carol Anne Russell, 53, Warner Bridge Road; simple possession; held, $250 bond
