Another home burglarized during day

A large amount of jewelry and a laptop computer were stolen from a residence on Trinity Road in the Green Hills area of northwest Shelbyville, police said.

* Another home burglary occurred early Thursday on West Lane Street, police said.

A pistol and DVD recorder were listed by police as stolen.

Confusion reigns

A man who attempted to confuse a store clerk left Union Street BP Sunday with $88, Shelbyville police said.

The suspect paid for a cigarette lighter with a $100 bill, then claimed the clerk incorrectly counted the change, police were told.

The man laid more money on the counter, then eventually grabbed all the money on the counter and left, police said.

The suspect was described as a white man, between 55 to 60 years old.

He was picked up by a waiting silver or gray Lincoln Continental with damage on the driver's side and a broken taillight on the driver's side, the clerk told police.

Farm burglarized

Tools, a wire welder and a battery were stolen between last Friday and Saturday from a Perryman Lane farmer, the Bedford County Sheriff's Department reported.

The owner told the BCSD he suspected more than one person used a truck to haul away the items.

Drugs stolen

A bottle of Xanax was stolen Thursday from a drawer in a unit at Bedford Manor Apartments, Shelbyville police said.

Twelve Clonzapam tablets were taken about 3 a.m. Saturday at a home on Substation Road in Unionville, the Bedford County Sheriff's Department reports.

Truck recovered

A 2002 Dodge truck stolen in Nashville was found Friday night at Bedford Manor Apartments, police said.
