The event was originally scheduled in May, but was rained out.
There is no better destination for a motorcycle and its rider than the meandering roads and gently rolling countryside of Historic Bell Buckle, according to the town's chamber of commerce.
Designated as the official Tennessee State Bike Show, Bell Buckle's Motorcycle Day centers around a Poker Run on some of Tennessee's best backroads, a competitive Bike Show, live entertainment, country cooking and more.
The festivities begin at 9 a.m. at the stage area behind the stores in downtown Bell Buckle. Participation in the poker run is $25, and includes lunch and an event t-shirt.
One of the 2009 highlights is a free live concert by Big Mike Griffin, who plays 100 percent Biker Blues. As a biker and musician, Big Mike's original sounds blend blues music with biker culture, according to the chamber.
He has performed with David Allen Coe, Johnnie Rodriguez, and other artists, and set a record attendance in Daytona Beach, Fla., at the Full Moon Saloon during Bike Week 2005.
In addition to the poker run and live concert, there will be a drive-in bike show featuring seven different classes of bikes: Full custom, mild custom, manufactured custom, sport bike, classic, antique, and trike/side car.
Each class will feature trophies for first, second and third place. There will also be a trophy for Best of Show, and the People's Choice.
Another highlight of the day will be the appearance of "Wingspan" presiding over the prizes and give aways, and the 50/50 raffle benefiting the Bell Buckle Fire Department. The Bell Buckle Café will be on site serving a barbecue lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

My husband and I went last year and really enjoyed it. It was the first time we had been to Bell Buckle since moving to Bedford County in 06. Not a bad way to spend the day.
