Legion earns split with Thrashers

Shelbyville Post 23 split a pair of road games against the Tennessee Thrashers at Ezell-Harding on Tuesday night, coming out on top 10-2 in the second contest.

Post 23 took a 3-1 lead in the second inning on a Will Trice double and singles by Tyler Vannatta and Michael Watkins, then boosted its lead with a walk-filled seven-run fourth.

Trice doubled and singled and Tyler Vannatta finished with three singles.

Post 23 pitcher Jeremy Estill held the Thrashers to five hits.

Thrashers 2, Shelbyville 0: The Thrashers' first batter of the game was walked, advanced via an error to score, and things went downhill from there for Shelbyville.

Estill doubled and Trice singled for Shelbyville's only hits off Thrashers pitcher Chowning, whose first name was not listed on the scoresheet.

Shelbyville pitcher Chase Dial held the Thrashers to three hits.
