Two of the bills were passed on Sunday at Sonic Drive-In, North Main Street, officers were told.
A carhop became suspicious after being paid what appeared to be $40 for a purchase of less than $3 and notified management, who called police.
The persons in the car from which the bills were received were described by the carhop as a white woman with medium length light brown hair with blondish highlights; a white male with blondish red hair; and a thin white woman with wavy brown short hair.
The first bill was passed between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday at Serve-N-Go Market, Madison Street, officers were told. Two more counterfeit $20s were passed at separate registers Sunday at Wal-Mart, according to the report.
