Six of the seven divisions were won by the same drivers who won a week earlier at the famed quarter-mile. The only non-repeat winner was Tyler Seibers, who took the Rookie Pony division.
Another large crowd was on hand to witness three-wide racing in all divisions. Clint Carter continued his domination of the Super Stock division, beating DeWayne Waid to the wire. His father, Alan Carter, wheeled his Pure Pony to the checkers, just ahead of fellow Murfreesboro driver Tony Patterson.
The Super Late Model feature was a war of attrition, with very few cars making it out of the race without some sort of damage. Polesitter Michael Walker and outside front row driver Tommy Lawwell got together hard in turn two, before a lap could be completed. For all practical purposes their night was over, although they were able to continue. David Gentry got by Corey Posey and David Brannon late to take the win.
Mark Haddon made it two in a row, outrunning Shannon Davis to the flag. Matt Odeneal took the pole, then the win in the Two Barrel Late Model feature, leading all the way. Waid made it two second-place finishes on the night. In the Outlaw Pony feature, it was David Seibers passing Paul White to continue his good fortunes at Ducktona.
Racing resumes Friday night, with a $2,000-to-win Super Late Model 40 lapper, plus racing in all divisions. Racing begins at 7 p.m. with fireworks at intermission.
