The Bedford County Colts rounded out their summer baseball schedule with a doubleheader versus Chapel Hill in Wartrace on Tuesday afternoon.

The Colts got the sticks going early with a seven-run third inning to propel them to a 9-6 win in the first game.

Jared Carkuff started and went three frames on the hill to earn the 'W'. Carson Tapley relieved and got two outs before having to be replaced due to an apparent injury. Michael Buck entered and manned the rubber for the last 3 1/3.

Lance Paschal also had to leave the playing field for Bedford County after being bloodied by taking a pitch off a shoulder blade. Gavin Elmore notched multiple hits.

Colts 2, Rockets 0: In the second half of the double-dip, Ryan Rippy dazzled the home crowd with a complete-game shutout. The young left-hander went all five innings for the victors.

Carkuff walked and scored Bedford County's first run on a base hit by Kyle Saylor. The final tally came from Saylor touching home after Tapley smacked a ball to right field.
