Arrested were Anthony Joseph Bryant, 28, and Melinda Kay Ferguson, 33, who were both charged with manufacturing/selling/delivering a schedule II drug, possession of a schedule VI drug, possession of a legend drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were freed on $12,000 bond.
Detective Todd Hammond, Detective Sgt. David Sakich and Special Agent Larry Campbell of the Moore County Sheriff's Department were conducting an investigation at Sherwood Trailer Park and spoke to Bryant about alleged narcotics activity there.
According to Hammond's report, Bryant stated that he had muscle relaxers inside the trailer and retrieved the pills, which were contained in a prescription bottle.
"One of the pills [was] identified as an antibiotic and the other was a generic form of Robaxin, a muscle relaxer," the report read.
Hammond then spoke to Ferguson, asking if there were any other drugs in the trailer. She allegedly said there was some marijuana inside.
Ferguson went to the bedroom and pulled out a large tin from under a pillow that contained digital scales, hemostats, scissors, rolling papers, a rolling machine, several plastic baggies, five roaches, a grinder, and a baggie and metal jar both contained marijuana, the report said.
When Hammond asked about methamphetamine, Ferguson allegedly reached under another pillow and retrieved a small red change purse that contained a glass vial containing meth, an empty baggie with meth residue, another baggie with a small amount of meth, two straws a razor blade, a ring, a piece of an ink pen, a crack pipe, miscellaneous paper and TennCare Cards for Ferguson and two other individuals.

Glad to know your tax dollars are at least providing health care for the truly needy there in Tennessee with TennCare.
Maybe the government should consider providing it on a national level now so we will all be able to afford crack and meth.
Just a guess Blessed, but I don't think TennCare covers meth or crack...yet. Maybe Obama, oops, KennedyCare will cover those items.
No, but the money saved by not having to pay for insurance sure seems to buy drugs.
Are you happy with your tax dollars being used to provide health care so someone has more money to buy more drugs like these mentioned which will lead to more health problems requiring more medical help fund by more of your tax dollars?
Everyone doesn't use Tenn Care to have money to buy drugs. some of us have to have it to survive.

Just another FINE example of how hard working, responsible tax payers are REQUIRED by our government to provide for those who don't give a tinker's damn about responsibility. Punishing success and rewarding failure (socialism) will never be a good idea.
I honestly feel that charity should be provided for those who cannot provide for themselves. However there is a huge difference between cannot and will not. In today's economy, with the ever increasing numbers of those genuinely in need of assistance, continuing to reward those who are irresponsible with monthly income and health care is irresponsible in and of itself. I can't, for any reason, support the idea of providing a tax payer funded reward for their continued bad decisions and behavior.
Maybe they should implement drug testing on Tenncare recipients and then kick them out of the program. I do know that some people actually need Tenncare and don't abuse the system. But thier are way too many others who take advantage of what they get.Just think about how many obtain prescription narcotics and sell them. The system could really use an overhaul

Good point Tatoo. That is where it is easy to see that the "responsibliity" to care for the needy would be better administered again by the "Church" where abuse of charity could be monitored closely. The federal or even state governments for that matter are too large to effectively administer charity (even in the form of health care) to the needy without abuse taking over and dominating it.
That's the way it used to be and the small community church enforced the "don't work, don't eat" instructions they were given therefore removing the crutch that cripples so many.
The interest alone off the big church buildings, elaborate sound systems and flashing signs would take care of the truly needy within a one mile radius of each of them.
So I have to ask myself what happened..."did the church drop the ball or did the government take the ball away from them."
They need to create a way to track the folks who are gubmnet assistance and if they come up hot for dope or any other type of illegal drug they should be banned from anytype of gubment or federal assistance....
So I have to ask myself what happened..."did the church drop the ball or did the government take the ball away from them."

I think it has been a little of both, when the government started the welfare program, more and more people went to that because the churches were more strict in who they would help and what kind of help you got. Over time more and more people became dishonest and the churches became leary in helping strangers so they started Sams Club which will help people pay their utility bill and will provide food. Unless you are a member or a close relative of a member of a church they won't help you directly any more, at least not the big churches in town.
dont over anylize the situation. truth is there are alot of opinons here but also alot of nobody doing nething t make nethign better. two meth heads with insurance lets freak out. i know people that pay for their tenn care. the real issue is why are they not using their tenn care to get help in gettign off the drug. how is it that the addict who doesnt care for their self still manages to get to the dhs to keep thier health care ( MOST DONT PEOPLE , MOST DRUG ADDICTS DO NOT HAVE INSURACE CAUSE THERE TO HIGH TO GIV A CRAP) but lets blame the drug addicts who r using their tenn care to gt pain pills right? what abotu the dr? he obviously knows he can obviously see that a patient walking into his office is a drug addict so why is he prescribing the meds? I CAN not even get a pain pill to ease teh pain of a muscle disease i have. its only gettign worse i work take care of my kids and it would be nice to have some relief but their to busy giving the drug addicts all the meds. ya'll r way off base and so i went there as well. lets get back to point. BEDFORD COUNTY HAS A METH PROBLEM. IT IS EFFECTING THE KIDS TO THE ADULTS MAKING IT FOR THE KIDS . HEY THE KIDS ARE EVEN MAKING IT FOR THE ADULTS NOW. TALK TO YOUR KIDS AND YOUR FAMILY STAND UP AND GAIN KNOWLEDGE AS TO WHAT THIS DRUG ACTUALLY IS AND FIGHT AGAINST IT. YOU DO HAVE A VOICE SO USE IT FOR SOMETHING GOOD other than just griping about tenncare the people probably dont even use. thank you. All i see is a bunch of complainers sitting behind a computer screen. WHY DO WE NOT HAVE DRUG COURT? WHY DO WE NOT HAVE MORE REHABILITAION centers for this drug and others. where can we send the people that need help? whos responsibility is it to make our society better? i believe its the communities. YOU SAY ITS THE COPS? no people im sorry to inform you but our police are here to fufill their own objectives no where in there fortay is helping out the citizens. IVe called, Ive begged, Ive gotten teh same awnser time and time again when it comes down to it our officers arent getting their hands dirty unles it directly benifits them or thier own motives. all we got is eachother people. so quit driving us apart from eachother lets stand up unite and fight for our loved ones! lets get them back before there gone and weer left paying to put them in the ground. this is the real issue people. waht do you think about that?

If you ask me I think the church should take the ball back and the government should give it back to them.
It is easy to see that the church could better administer charity and not let it become the crippling crutch that so many have become dependant on.

AMEN to everything and I am sorry to hear that you cannot get the relief you deserve. My mother is in a similar situation.
Everyone else -
Seriously? All anybody can do is complain about the abuse of government assistance? I 100% agree that people abuse whatever they can, and I agree that it is wrong and something needs to be done, but is that really worth arguing about? This woman has children. Children who are affected in every way by her actions. She actually got her kids back when she got out on bond. What kind of a society are we when we work in the best interest of the system and not the children? Why do we accept the promises of the drug addicts that they will get clean and take care of their children? Why do we allow children to go back to hostile homes or situations where domestic violence between the parents has been proven? Is it really most important to keep them with their biological family, or should we begin to consider stable, healthy homes? This is not the first time she has been in trouble, though I pray, for the sake of her children, that it is the last. (yes, I know who she is, I also know the abusive deadbeat who fathered some of her children)
Most employers are required by state and/or federal government to drug test their employees. It's our taxes that help support welfare for people in need (I'm fine with this). I think they should drug test the people applying for welfare and then maybe some of the abuse will stop.
