Scarab burst too much for Lady Feet

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Webb's girls fell 5-1 to visiting St. Cecilia on Tuesday at Lagler Field.

The Scarabs put in three goals in a 10-minute period in the early going to put the Lady Feet on the mat.

"We had opportunities to score goals but just couldn't put them in," Webb coach Adrian Anderson said.

"We kind of came out shell-shocked in the beginning. We set back and let them come at us. They passed through us and got some goals."

Sophomore Atoluwa Omitowoju netted the lone Lady Feet goal in the 30th minute off an assist from senior Melissa Wisniewski. Junior goalkeeper Caroline Smith picked up 10 saves.

Webb heads to Lewisburg to face Marshall County on Thursday at 4:30.
