Lady Feet win as lightning strikes

Friday, September 11, 2009

Webb outscored host Marshall County 2-0 in a lightning-shortened match in Lewisburg on Thursday.

The game was delayed and eventually suspended at halftime. No make up date has been scheduled.

"The back line played real well," Webb coach Adrian Anderson said. "We kept the ball in front of us and kept possession as much as we could on a rough field."

Karly Grissom netted the first goal for the Lady Feet in the 10th minute off an assist from Katie Jones. Less than 10 minutes later, Jones doubled the visitors' advantage thanks in part to a well-placed ball from Melissa Wisniewski.

Caroline Smith pawed away four saves in 40 minutes of shutout goalie play.

Webb welcomes Cascade to Lagler Field in Bell Buckle for their next match Tuesday.
