"We played real well and passed extremely well in the conditions," Webb coach Adrian Anderson said. "We fought for the goals and worked real hard throughout the front and midfield to win the ball back."

Karly Grissom took an assist from Anne Windham to get the Webb (9-4) scoring started in the 7th minute. Melissa Wisniewski doubled the advantage with an assist via Aurora MacDougall just five minutes later. Katie Jones then assisted another Grissom goal before scoring one of her own off a nice dish from Wisniewski to put it at 4-0.

Allyse Reece trimmed the deficit for the Viqueens (2-6) with a goal shortly before intermission.

In the 71st minute, Kristen Simmons worked an assist from Amity Reed for the second Community goal.

Windham provided the final score with Shelby Brady and Claire Coop assisting.

Webb took time at the game's midway point to pay tribute to the team's seven seniors at the center of the rain-drenched field. Honored were Brady, Jones, Windham, Wisniewski, Patti Davidson, Christina Barnes and Aurora MacDougall.

"I'm really proud of my seniors this year. They have really stepped up to be leaders," Anderson said.

Webb heads to Nashville for their next match versus East/Middle Region foe Davidson Academy on Monday at 5.

The Viqueens will take part in the District 11-A/AA tournament. They face rival Cascade in an elimination match in Wartrace at a time and date to be determined.
