Storms damage local property

Ola May Freeman looks at the massive tree that came down on the family sheds during the high winds Friday. Her granddaughter, 5, came into the house telling her the tree was about to fall, even though there was no sign of it happening, she said. Moments later, said Freeman, they heard a loud 'boom' and the tree came down, crushing the back shed, including the riding lawnmowers, push mowers, garden tillers and grandchildren's bicycles that were in it. If the tree had fallen the other way, it would have crushed the deck and back portion of the house.
