Lady Patriots claim season opener

In their season opener, Liberty Middle's girls took down Moore County Middle 39-11 in a physical contest in Lynchburg on Tuesday night.

Hannah Calvert notched 10 points and five steals to lead the Lady Patriots. Jacey Holt, Kimme Bayne and Matti Mitchell scored six apiece.

Liberty totaled 20 steals and 19 rebounds.

Moore County 30, Liberty 21 (B): Trevor Arnold tallied 10 points and Kyle Cunningham had eight, but it wouldn't be enough for the Patriots.

They take part in the Tip-Off Tournament in Cornersville next week.
