Michaela Jones led the Viqueens with her second-place finish with a time of 23 minutes, 7 seconds, followed closely by Kristen Simmons in seventh (24:27). Erica Hoffman (19th), Kali Sitz (23rd) and Courtney Vassar (29th) helped secure the state berth by finishing well within the top half of the 64-girl field.
The state meet is at The Steeplechase in Nashville on Nov. 7 at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Community's boys team also ran and finished fifth out of nine teams.
"The boys are a very young team, with no seniors, that has improved a great deal over the course of the year and big things are expected of them next year," Community coach Tony Garrette said.
Walter Pigford was the top finisher for Vikings, crossing 17th out of 68 with a time of 20:38.
