Shelbyville Times-Gazette: Community Sports: Liberty heading to Tip-Off finals (11/06/09)

Liberty Middle continues its torrid play through the early part of the basketball schedule.

The Lady Patriots got 12 points from Olivia Calvert to help them to a 34-10 victory over Forrest Middle in the Cornersville Tip-Off Tournament semifinals on Thursday.

Liberty 41, Columbia Academy 31 (B): Kyle Cunningham's 16 points and Trevor Arnold's 13 paced the Patriot effort in their semifinal win. Matt Clanton added seven.

The Pats advanced to the semifinals with a 47-27 triumph over Culleoka. Tyler Bean contributed to the winning cause with a team-high 13 points.

Both Liberty teams take on host Cornersville in the championship games. The girls game tips off Saturday night at 7 with the boys to follow at approximately 8.
