Cascade Middle boys stop MTCS

Cascade Middle's boys held a steady lead throughout and downed Middle Tennessee Christian Middle 50-43 in Murfreesboro on Tuesday night.

Will Holt's 13 points led the way for the Champions (3-0). Blake Floyd tallied 10 points, while Alex Hatchett and Bryce Clinton chipped in eight apiece.

Cascade went up 12-6 in the first quarter before carrying a 25-16 upper hand into halftime. The advantage extended to 37-23 moving to the final period.

Gavin Burgess topped the scoring column for MTC with 14 points. Derrick Spears had 11 and Britt Roberts nine.

The Champs sank four 3-pointers compared to one by their hosts.

Middle Tennessee Christian 42, Cascade 18 (G): The Lady Cougars cranked up the defensive pressure and never allowed their visitors in the game.

MTC was on top 11-2 at the end of one quarter, 23-5 at the break and 37-7 entering the last frame.

Lady Cougar Juliann Peters led all scorers with 11 points. Sarah Beth Martin added nine and Jasmine Bond seven.

Courtnie Carter and Summer Carter each scored four points for the Lady Champions (2-1).
