White County paints losses on Harris

Harris Middle's boys lost a hard-fought battle 39-30 to visiting White County Middle on Monday in a Central Tennessee Conference matchup.

The visitors only had three players reach the scoring box, led by Skylar Delaney's 20 points and Dalton Nash's 17.

Seventh grader Tre Trice paced the Eagles with 15.

The Eagles (1-1, 1-1 CTC) took an early 4-0 lead but White County went on an 11-0 run and led 14-9 advantage at intermission.

Criss Gabriel scored six points in the third quarter for Harris, who trailed 23-17 going into the final stanza.

White County cashed in on 12-of-16 free throws in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

White County 27, Harris 9 (G): The Eaglettes just couldn't get much going on offense as they trailed 9-2 at the end of the first quarter, 19-2 at the break and 23-7 after three.

Kelsey Roberts led the winners' balanced scoring attack with nine points.

Tonesha Allison scored three for the Eaglettes (1-1, 1-1 CTC).

The Eaglettes only connected on 5-of-18 attempts from the free-throw line.

Harris heads to Pulaski tonight.
